Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA) played a pivotal role in the national tree planting exercise held in Nyeri County today, led by the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Alice Wahome. The event, aimed at bolstering the country’s forest cover, saw over 40,000 seedlings planted at Githiuru forest.

Joining the CS in this green initiative were Nyeri Deputy Governor H.E Kinaniri Waroe, Kieni MP Hon Wainaina Anthony Njoroge, CEO National Lands Commission Kabale Tache Arero MBS, TWWDA board members, and other senior government officials.

In her address, CS Wahome lauded the residents of Nyeri County for their exemplary commitment to environmental conservation, noting that the county leads the nation with an impressive 45% forest caover. She emphasized the importance of preserving this green heritage and called for stringent measures against those involved in deforestation.
