The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) conducted a supervision mission to Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA) projects on 3rd and 4th April 2025. The mission focused on monitoring the progress of ongoing water and sanitation projects being implemented under the Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program (KTWSSP).

Upon arrival, the AfDB delegation was warmly received by TWWDA officials and taken through a detailed briefing on the program’s achievements, milestones, and current implementation status. Discussions highlighted the positive strides made in expanding access to safe water and sanitation while addressing the challenges faced in project execution.

The mission also included a comprehensive field visit, where the team assessed the actual progress on the ground. This provided AfDB with firsthand insight into the impact of the projects in transforming communities through improved service delivery, infrastructure development, and sustainable resource management.

Speaking during the visit, both teams reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening sustainable water and sanitation services in Kenya. The collaboration between the Government of Kenya and the African Development Bank continues to play a pivotal role in achieving universal access to safe and reliable water.

At Tana Water Works Development Agency, we remain dedicated to implementing transformative projects that improve the quality of life for the communities we serve.
