On 20th June 2025, Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA) hosted a major tree planting event at Hill Farm Primary School in Nyeri, where 10,000 tree seedlings were planted as part of our ongoing commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable water resource management.

The exercise was spearheaded by the TWWDA Board of Directors, under the leadership of the Chairperson, Mr. Teobald Mukundi Wambugu, and brought together a strong network of stakeholders dedicated to greening our environment. We were honoured to be joined by representatives from the Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA), The Outspan Hospital, Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NYEWASCO), The Nyeri National Polytechnic, and Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT).

Tree planting plays a critical role in conserving catchment areas, preventing soil erosion, and protecting water sources. By restoring ecosystems, we not only safeguard water security but also improve livelihoods for communities that depend on these natural resources.

This collaborative effort underscores the power of partnerships in achieving long-term sustainability. At TWWDA, we remain committed to nurturing nature, protecting water resources, and ensuring a water-secure future for generations to come.
