Tana Water Works Development Agency and Kenya Police College-Kiganjo fraternity on 1st July, 2023 came together to support the government’s initiative of planting 15 billion trees by 2032. In collaboration with the esteemed Madam Tessie Mudavadi, the spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary, over 4,000 tree seedlings were successfully planted within the training college.
The event was graced by the Nyeri Deputy Governor H.E Kinaniri Waroe, Nyeri County Commissioner Pius Murugu, Deputy Inspector General-Kenya Police Service Mr. Douglas Kanja, Nominated MCA Phidelis Kanene, TWWDA Chairperson James Wanyaga, Kenya Forest Service, Ahadi Kenya Trust, The Ruban Rose Foundation Kenya, Mudavadi Memorial Foundation Trust Fund as well as community members who are visually impaired.
During this incredible occasion, indigenous tree seedlings were planted by dedicated college staff and the local community. This remarkable effort was made possible largely through the Ushiriki Wema Initiative, whose patron is Madam Tessie Musalia.
By planting trees, we are not only contributing to a greener and healthier environment but also paving the way for a sustainable future. TWWDA is making every effort to ensure our water sources are conserved and each tree we plant brings us one step closer to combatting climate change and preserving our precious ecosystems. Together, we can make a difference.
