Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA) on 4th June 2025 joined hands with the County Government of Nyeri, the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA-Kenya), and other partner institutions in a tree planting exercise to reaffirm a shared commitment to environmental conservation.
The activity is part of the build-up events to World Environment Day, which is celebrated globally every year on June 5th. The exercise brought together stakeholders, community members, and environmental champions in a collective effort to restore degraded areas, enhance biodiversity, and safeguard water catchments.
By planting trees, the partners underscored the importance of collaborative action in addressing climate change, improving ecosystems, and securing water resources for future generations.
This initiative reflects TWWDA’s dedication to integrating environmental sustainability into its mandate of ensuring universal access to quality water and sanitation services.
